Naples Zirconia Crowns

When you need a crown on one of your front teeth, you need it to blend in so well with the rest of your smile that no one notices it’s there. At Naples General & Cosmetic Dentistry, our zirconia crowns are designed and crafted to replicate your own beautiful, natural teeth.

Aesthetic & Strong

And because this type of ceramic is so strong, our crowns are as durable as they are aesthetic—built to withstand necessary pressure without fracturing.

Types of Zirconia Crowns

Layered Zirconia

This type of crown consists of a zirconia core overlaid with porcelain, allowing the master ceramist to perfectly match it to the surrounding teeth. It is ideal for restoring teeth in the smile zone. The zirconia core is milled with CAD/CAM technology to perfectly fit the tooth. The porcelain is then applied with a brush to duplicate the subtle color and translucency variations that are found in a natural tooth. It is then baked, contoured, and glazed, creating a restoration that it is so realistic, no one will know that it isn’t your own tooth.

Monolithic Zirconia

A monolithic zirconia crown is milled directly from solid zirconia, with no additional material overlaid. Because of its exceptional strength and durability, it is perfect for posterior (back) teeth, where more pressure is exerted. Without the porcelain overlay, this type of crown doesn’t replicate the fine details of a natural tooth, making it well-suited for teeth not visible when you smile.

How Many Years Do Zirconia Crowns Last?

How long it lasts will vary, depending on how well it is taken care of. A zirconia crown should last a minimum of 5 years. If it is done well and well cared for, it could last 30-40 years or even a lifetime. As with anything, the longevity of a crown will depend, in large part, on how well it’s cared for. To maintain the optimal condition of your dental restorations, follow these tips.

Don’t:

  • Use your teeth as tools
  • Nibble on snacks all day long

Do:

  • Brush and floss regularly
  • Receive regular exams and cleanings
  • Get nightguard protection if you grind your teeth in your sleep

What is the Highest Quality Dental Crown?

A quality dental crown provides a long-lasting restoration to your tooth’s healthy function and appearance. Beautiful, strong, and durable, a zirconia crown is a high-quality dental restoration that will support the aesthetics of your smile for years to come.
