Naples Dental Implants

When you need a tooth replaced, a dental implant provides a beautiful, natural-looking restoration. At Naples General & Cosmetic Dentistry, we offer aesthetic dental implants and in-house surgery utilizing the latest technology for enhanced precision. Both Dr. Robert Bracho and Dr. Matthew Keller hold advanced training in implant dentistry, also known as implantology.

Beautiful and Natural-Looking

Split drawing shows how dental implants with custom abutments allow the crown to hug the gumline, creating a more natural look than those with stock abutments. As cosmetic dentists, Dr. Bracho and Dr. Keller prioritize aesthetics in tooth restoration. Our dental implants are made of beautiful zirconia crowns crafted to look like real teeth by mimicking their natural translucency, color variation, and light reflectivity. For anterior (front) teeth, we take special care to ensure that the crown hugs the gumline for the most natural look. We do this by creating custom abutments (the metal fixtures that connect crowns to embedded implants) that provide an exact, unique fit. In the image at right, notice the aesthetic upgrade a custom abutment provides (right side) versus a stock one (left side). With a beautiful, custom-designed dental implant, no one will ever have to know your tooth was replaced!

Dental Implants: Our Process

First, you’ll see Dr. Bracho or Dr. Keller for a comprehensive oral exam. This will include reviewing your medical history to make sure you’re a good candidate for dental implants, as well as taking x-rays and a CBCT scan. The CBCT scan is a critical component as it offers a 3-dimensional look at your mouth, jaw, and nasal cavities that informs precise implant placement. With the placement of your implant determined, it will be time to schedule your surgery.

Your surgery will be performed in our office by Dr. Bracho or Dr. Keller, so you won’t have to deal with an unknown doctor at an unfamiliar location. During surgery, your dentist will place your implant precisely in its previously determined location. We use the state-of-the-art X-Guide system, which functions like a GPS to ensure that implants are placed with precision and accuracy.

After surgery, we’ll wait a few months to allow the bone to fuse to the implant. Then, we’ll take digital impressions using intraoral photogrammetry. These will give us a 3D computer model of your mouth with the new implant so that Dr. Bracho or Dr. Keller can design your permanent crown. They’ll send the crown specifications to our local dental lab for fabrication. When your crown is ready, Dr. Bracho or Dr. Keller will attach it to your implant, and your smile will be as good as new!

Implantology Credentials

Dr. Bracho and Dr. Keller are both members of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. In addition, they have obtained specialized training in oral implantology by completing the AAID MaxiCourse, a comprehensive 300-hour continuum.

“I can’t say enough about the exceptional care I received from Dr. Bracho throughout my dental implant process. From the very first consultation, it was clear that I was in the hands of a highly skilled professional who genuinely cares about patient comfort and long-term results. He took the time to explain every step of the procedure and never rushed my questions. The quality of his work shows—my implant looks completely natural, feels great, and has restored my confidence.” — Guillermo Rodriguez

Dental Implant FAQs

How long is the implant procedure?

For a single implant, the entire procedure typically lasts 1-2 hours.

Is getting a dental implant painful?

The procedure is not painful, as we use local anesthesia to numb the surgical area. For your comfort, we also offer oral and IV sedation. (Visit our page on sedation dentistry to learn more.) After the procedure, it is common to experience moderate pain and discomfort. These can be treated with over-the-counter pain relievers and typically subside within a week.

Are implants better than dentures?

Implant-supported dentures, which are attached via dental implants, are a secure, comfortable alternative to traditional dentures. They also promote the health of your jaw and prevent premature aging by inhibiting bone resorption and resultant facial collapse. To learn more, visit our page on implant overdentures.
